My name is Taejin, and I’ve been living in Gangnam for over 20 years.
During the day, I work in the morning and study in the evenings, living the life of an ordinary Gangnam resident.
I enjoy talking with people, so I often join language exchange meetups with international friends.
I’m comfortable communicating in English, and I can also speak a little German.
This experience is not really a typical guided tour.
Instead, you can think of it as a casual walk where a local resident shows you around the neighborhood.
I’d love to share what everyday life in Gangnam feels like from a local’s perspective.
This experience is about enjoying a neighborhood walk and a Han River outing that many Gangnam residents often do in their daily lives.
Most of the activities are outdoors, so it’s a perfect course for pleasant spring and autumn weather.
We will meet at Maebong Station (Exit 4)
and begin our walk along the Yangjaecheon Stream trail.

Yangjaecheon is a popular walking spot for residents living in the southern parts of Seocho-gu and Gangnam-gu.
As we walk along the quiet stream, it often feels like taking a small break from the busy city.
While we walk at a relaxed pace, I’ll share stories about the neighborhood and what life is like for me as a Gangnam resident.

Near Yangjaecheon, there are many beautiful cafés and bakeries to explore.
We’ll stop by a café that catches our eye and enjoy a relaxed break with some sweet desserts.

Did you know that Seoul has an affordable public bike system called “Ttareungi”?
From Yangjaecheon to Jamsil Hangang Park (toward Lotte World),
it takes about 30–40 minutes by bike.
On a beautiful day,
riding along the path from Yangjaecheon all the way to the Han River
can feel refreshing and wonderfully freeing.
Let’s hop on our bikes and ride together
all the way to the cool and breezy Han River! 🚲🌿

Once we arrive at the cool and scenic Jamsil Hangang Park,
we’ll take some time to relax and enjoy the view of the Han River.
This park is a quiet and pleasant riverside spot often visited by residents of Songpa-gu and Gangnam-gu.
Here, we can enjoy simple moments such as trying the famous Han River ramen, sitting on a bench, and relaxing while looking at the river.
If there’s extra time or if you’d like, we can also visit:
Seokchon Lake for a walk
Lotte World Mall
Bangi-dong Food Street for dinner
We can decide depending on the mood of the day.
This course works best if we start around 2:00 PM.
You can enjoy the walk and bike ride during the daylight,
and by the time we reach the Han River, we might even catch a beautiful sunset.
Since most of the activities are outdoors,
this course is best enjoyed during spring and autumn.
During summer and winter,
the schedule can be adjusted depending on the weather.
Want to experience the local neighborhood atmosphere rather than typical tourist spots
Enjoy cafés and relaxed walks
Want to spend time chatting comfortably while traveling
This experience is closer to a relaxed neighborhood walk with a Gangnam local than a formal tour.
We’ll walk slowly, talk, rest at cafés,
and ride bikes together to the Han River.
Let’s experience a more relaxed and everyday side of Seoul together 🙂
